Seldom,
if ever, has the not-too-distant future and its larger opportunity
ramifications emerged so lucidly before free India.
Riveted on
five trust areas, Agriculture and Food Processing, Power, Education
& Healthcare, IT and the Strategic Sector, the Vision of President
A.P. Abdul Kalam seeks to place our country prime on the global
map by the year 2020.
The course
is charted and the count down has begun.
Notwithstanding the material resources that Vision 2020 would
necessarily leverage, the hands-on implementation of this bold
initiative shall, compulsively, have young India on the call of
duty.
Vast avenues
and immense opportunities lie beyond the floodgates that A.P.J.
Abdul Kalam has unlocked. It is, but surely, from a staggering
54 % of the country's population-comprising youth below age 25-that
vision 2020 draws immeasurable strength. The need for empowered,
trained, fine-tuned and tempered human resource is now more tangible
and burning than ever before.
Given the majorly enthused and charged environment, it is-doubly,
this time round-a privilege for me to welcome the new batch of
Undergraduate as well as Postgraduate students at the Pailan College
6JNi;,1 Management & Technology.
I hope that the pages here-beyond will serve well in their task
of explaining how PCMT is geared to prepare you for the wealth
of opportunities that Vision 2020 has thrown up.
Here's wishing you not merely an exciting, stint at PCMT, but
also worthy career rewards for your education in a premier college
of management & technology.
