Engineering is a hands-on profession where doing is the key. Labs should be considered as platforms for facilitating conceptual understanding, and we consider that laboratories should also facilitate the design skills. We follow a new approach for laboratory education which uses a combination of virtual, remote, and hands-on laboratory sessions and pre-lab and post-lab tests to maximize the information retention of students.

The focal point of the Institute, the well-stocked library is the most important form of learning media. It has more than 8,000 books including the latest Management, IT, Hospital Management and Optometry books.
Inter-library arrangements with Delnet and British Council provide further access to information.
The library provides the ambience of a reference section and a spacious reading room facility, open from 8am to 8pm everyday.

Vsat Lab

A Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT), installed by ISRO and WBUT, with video conferencing facilities has been set up recently.

The terminal has EDUSAT connectivity and is fitted with an LCD Projector to help facilitate interactive sessions with the University and other colleges.
