PROJECT WORK FOR MBA & PGDM
Each student is required to submit a Project Report based on a TOPIC of his / her choice subject to approval of faculty guide and institutional guide in industrial and / or commercial establishment as a part of University curriculum .
The student may choose any topic in the areas namely (a) Marketing Management, (b) Financial Management, and (c) Human Resource Management. Project will be evaluated as per University/Institution Guidelines.
Project work will be carried out under the joint supervision of two guides: The Faculty Guide and the External Institutional Guide.
The subject matter of the Project work will be finalized by the student in consultation with the concerned Guides and will be designed as follows:

PART-I

    1. Title Page
    2. Acknowledgement
    3. Table of Contents
    4. List of tables
    5. List of charts and diagrams
    6. List of abbreviation

PART-II

    • Introduction (Organization profile, Study objectives)
    • Identification of problem area
    • Analysis of problem (Determination of Hypothesis is optional)
    • Scope of study
    • Conceptual Frame work
    • Methodology Used
    • Collection of data
    • Analysis of data
    • Conclusions drawn & recommendations made

PART-III

  1. Bibliography / Reference
  2. Questionnaire used (for survey done, if any)
  3. Index
The Project is to be typed out in double space covering not less than 30 pages. The completed & spiral bound Project Report must bear a certificate duly signed in approval by, BOTH the GUIDES (INTERNAL & EXTERNAL). The signature of the Guides must be supported by letter head with the relevant seal of the Organization / Institution.
Spiral Bound Project Report is to be submitted to the Institute in Triplicate. The title of the Project work undertaken along with the candidate’s Name, Specialization,  WBUT/PGDM Roll No, Registration Number and Session should feature in black & bold printed capitals on the Front Cover of the Report. The following colour scheme are being suggested for the front cover of the Report-
    1. Marketing Management- Light Blue
    2. Financial Management- Light Yellow
    3. HRM- Light Red
The criteria for evaluation of the Project Report will include:-
    1. The relevance and adequacy of material collected / studies
    2. The quality of analysis of such materials
    3. The reasonableness and validity of findings / conclusions  and recommendations on improvements made
    4. The quality of presentation

The report should reflect candidate’s own understanding, assimilation and analysis of the subject under study.

    The students will have to appear at viva-voce test where they have to make a presentation of the Project. The dates for the Viva-voce Test will be notified in due course.
As per WBUT syllabus Project work & viva-voce (Paper code: MB 305) for MBA students carries 100 marks and 6 credits.
    For PGDM student’s project dissertation carries 100 marks. (PG407), project presentation carries 100 marks (PG408), and project viva carries 100 marks (PG409).
    The Report should be submitted to the Batch Co-ordinator by 16th August 2010 by WBUT students and by 31st August 2010 by PGDM students.
